I think I can go for Master-chef now :D

I was a complete novice to the kitchen and to all those containers it consists of.  It was just like some far away strayed alien planet to me.
Until today!

Being a lazy ass, I never tried to learn any good dish in these 21 years of my life, okay, who starts cooking in the childhood anyway, but you do get the point right.
My mom, she used to get so badly annoyed and forced me oodles number of times to get my hands dirty in there. But I. Oh well.

Our conversation usually goes like this:
Me: *Waking up at 11 and still feeling sleepy* what’s in the breakfast, Maa?
Maa: *Giving me her favorite dreadful look* Nothing. You got to make one yourself today.
Me: *Wondering why I even woke up* and who in the world would eat it then?
Maa: *Almost stood up to slap me hard* you. And from now on, you’ll do this every morning.
Me: *Cursing the one who just texted me Good Morning* Well, if that’s what you want, I’mma going back to bed.
Maa: *That tender mother’s heart came in picture* Alright. Alright. But this is the last time I’m doing this! :P
*And I sarcastically smile at that looking in the mirror and brushing my rabbit teeth, saying to myself I’m awesome, oh yeah*
Maa: *While preparing the food for her princess* Uff, kya karoon mai iska!!

Few days happily pass and then again the same thing.
And It's time for 101 talk with the God himself , I innocently question him, what’s left in my life now. I’m asked to cook, and to add to this ongoing torture, eat whatever it turns out to be. Do you even realize how hard it is and the situation is getting worse with every passing day, Oh Dear Lord, why me, what have I done !!
* Perhaps, he confused me with some daily soap and switched attention *

A little too melodramatic, yeah? Whhhat, shoo away before saying yes.  ;)

BTW now that you know how allergic I am to this horror place, let me tell you something worth surprising.

My better half, he is too smart a guy,
One fine day, while talking on the phone, cleverly asked me to help him with a couple of recipes. I was all into him and didn't realize it was a trap.
Instead, smiling like an idiot, went over to Maa to ask. Putting all the excitement at ease, she told me every bit of it. I listened carefully and narrated the same to him. And he prompted as much as he could in order to get it in my head for like ever.
Guess what he said when all turned out exactly the way he wanted, "Phew thank goodness, I won’t die of starvation now” and burst out laughing. :D

What are you smiling at. Seriously, Cooking and eww went hand in hand for me, but now, I know a lil so feels kinda strange :D

The song on my mind right now is Life sahi hai from the movie Pyaar Ka Punchnama.
Have a delicious one, mates!  :)

  2. Cooking is no rocket science. Its a creative thing like writing. I`m sure you're going to rock it.

I had to learn bits and pieces of cooking because I now stay 25K miles away from home. If I don't cook, I starve; simple as that. Now, I`m quite the craftsman.

  4. I try that weapon every now and then. Every time my mother makes a "sabzi" that I hate, I don't eat at all. So, next time two "sanzi" are made of which one is my favorite. I enjoy this royalty B-) :P :D

    Stay Blessed ^_^

  22. LOL...Risha, cooking is fun only if you love it. And for a person like you, who loves to cook and bake, it's a torture to the family. They hate when I try my new dishes on them...But, yes, it surely is a way to man's heart. Nicely written...:)
